The Union on Eighth Wedding - Jamie & Karey

One year ago, Jamie and Karey tied the knot. Their wedding was one of my favorites from last year and I'm sure it will always be one of my favorites. Jamie's knack for finding and creating cute details and decorations is off the charts. Karey's creativity and talent guided the wedding videography and music. Since this day they have continued to grow in their love for one another and they have been a wonderful example of the joys of marriage.

I'm excited to announce that their wedding will be featured in the upcoming March issue of Brides of Austin so be sure to pick up a copy!

Caney House Wedding - Kristna & Kyle

Kristna and Kyle are such a sweet couple and their wedding was one of my favorites from last year. Their wedding was set around the Caney House, a quaint historic house in a small southeast Texas town. I loved how each detail was unique and special to them from their engraved Bible and custom made rings to their TOMS shoes. Instant photos, strawberry naked cake, rustic setting, sunset bride and groom portraits -- I could go on with all the reasons why I loved this wedding. But most of all, on this day I gained two new wonderful friends and I am so honored to have been a part of their wedding. Oh, and for the record, Kyle is not a hipster.

Venue: Caney House  //  Florals: Flower Cottage  //  Dress: BHLDN  //  Hair: Made You Blush  //  Bride's ring: Kenzie & Co  //  Shoes: TOMS  //  Groom's Attire: Stag, Imogene + Willie  //  Groom's ring: Point No Point Studio  //  Bow ties: Tangled Ties  //  Videographer: Sharayah Cannon

2014 Year in Review

2014 was a wonderful year of growth and learning. I photographed many weddings, couples, and graduating seniors. I traveled to Houston, Dallas and San Antonio to photograph weddings. I attended my first workshop. I worked alongside a handful of talented photographers. Many of this year's weddings I second shot for the always awesome Benjamin Garrett PhotographyI learned that it's okay to use flash and often times necessary. I learned that when the DJ plays "Teach Me How to Dougie" you discover who the best dancers are at the wedding. I learned that it's okay to tear up during the emotional parts. I learned to appreciate the pure joy on a bride's face when she puts her dress on for the first time and sees how beautiful she is. I learned that I'm a sucker for pretty cakes and bouquets. Here are some of my favorite wedding images from the year:

Ruby Ranch Lodge Wedding - Devan & Blake

Devan and Blake's wedding was an intimate and charming celebration. I loved the little details such as the parasols and the sprinkles of sunflowers and lights. Their venue's wood interior matched perfectly with the wedding's rustic country style. Their close friends and family served as their wedding party. Blake's ridiculously cute daughter Addison was their flower girl, his brother Payne was his best man and Devan's friend Nour was her maid of honor. Devan and Blake are such a lovely and laid back couple and I could see by the way that they looked at each other that it was just meant to be. That they would always be there for one another. After enduring a few years of long distance dating I think these two are thrilled to start their life together -- in the same state and the same city.

Venue: Ruby Ranch Lodge & Celebration Facility  //  Florals: Costco & Central Market  //  Hair: Brandy Louden from The Beauty Store Salon & Spa  //  Bride's Teal Boots: Wall Street Western  //  Jewelry: The Beauty Store Salon & Spa & Hungry For God  //  Groom's Attire: Men's Warehouse & JC Pennies  //  Maid of Honor's Dress: Macy's

Spicewood Vineyards Wedding - Christina & Collin

Christina and Collin's vineyard wedding was simple and sweet. Their wedding party was small: Christina's daughter Abby was her maid of honor and Collin's father Ralph was his best man. The atmosphere of the wedding was very relaxed. There were Freebirds burritos, beer & wine, and lots of families dancing.  I was smiling the whole time because I could feel how happy everyone was, especially Christina and Collin. There were moments during our time alone together where I think they completely forgot I was there. Which is great because that's what makes beautifully authentic photos.
