2014 was a wonderful year of growth and learning. I photographed many weddings, couples, and graduating seniors. I traveled to Houston, Dallas and San Antonio to photograph weddings. I attended my first workshop. I worked alongside a handful of talented photographers. Many of this year's weddings I second shot for the always awesome Benjamin Garrett Photography. I learned that it's okay to use flash and often times necessary. I learned that when the DJ plays "Teach Me How to Dougie" you discover who the best dancers are at the wedding. I learned that it's okay to tear up during the emotional parts. I learned to appreciate the pure joy on a bride's face when she puts her dress on for the first time and sees how beautiful she is. I learned that I'm a sucker for pretty cakes and bouquets. Here are some of my favorite wedding images from the year:
Christina and Collin's vineyard wedding was simple and sweet. Their wedding party was small: Christina's daughter Abby was her maid of honor and Collin's father Ralph was his best man. The atmosphere of the wedding was very relaxed. There were Freebirds burritos, beer & wine, and lots of families dancing. I was smiling the whole time because I could feel how happy everyone was, especially Christina and Collin. There were moments during our time alone together where I think they completely forgot I was there. Which is great because that's what makes beautifully authentic photos.
